Prague has a rich musical heritage from medieval church music through to the great names of Smetana, Dvořák and Suk. The city continues to be the hub of Czech’s musical life, the high point being the annual Internationl Music Festival which starts on the anniversary of Smetana’s death on May 12 and ends at the beginning of June. The popular concert halls are at the Palace of Culture, St. Agnes’ Convent, Smetana Hall, Dvořák Hall and so on. Jazz is very popular and you can catch nightly jazz and folk music in many jazz clubs.
